TIMEPERIOD: LANGUAGE: EXAMINER PREREQUISITES COURSE AIM The course will give a basic understanding of modern, flexible laser manufacturing processes and manufacturing systems including basic knowledge of the design and function of industrial lasers. CONTENTS A overview of laser design and function. Beam propagation. Laser optics and beam focussing. Flexible laser manufacturing processes like cutting, welding, surface modification, drilling, marking etc. Laser manufacturing systems. TEACHING Lectures, exercises and project work.
