TIMEPERIOD: Q 4 LANGUAGE:English/Swedish EXAMINER Rikard Gebart Adj prof PREREQUISITES MTM038 Advanced Fluid Mechanics MTM081 Computational methods in mechanics (F) COURSE AIM The course gives experience of methods, mostly numerical, for calculations of technologically important flow phenomena. CONTENTS In the course are treated the numerical basis for a modern CFD-program (CFX), together with other methods for flow calculations. Application is done on technologically important areas such as : Separation and secondary flows, turbulence and turbulence modelling, compressible flow, density and thermal effects, multy-phase flows. TEACHING The teaching is done through project works. These are done as case-studies using eg a commercial CFD-program (CFX). EXAMINATION Written report on each project.
