TIMEPERIOD: Quarter II-III LANGUAGE:Swedish EXAMINER Bo Kjellmert Univ lekt PREREQUISITES Analysis and linear algebra. Vektor analysis. COURSE AIM The course aims to give: - a survey of the notions of electromagnetic field theory, - an understanding of circuit theory starting from field theory, - an ability of solving simple problems, chiefly such where symmetry and superposition can be used. CONTENTS Vector analysis. Static electric fields, dielectrics. Steady electric currents, conductors. Quasi-static magnetic fields, magnetic materials. Faraday's law of electromagnetic induction. Maxwell's equations. Plane waves. TEACHING Lessons and a mandatory home work. EXAMINATION Written examination at the end of the course. Mandatory home work.
