TIMEPERIOD: LANGUAGE:English/Swedish EXAMINER Mats Danielsson Univ adj PREREQUISITES General eligibility for admission. COURSE AIM The aim of the course is to provide deeper knowledge about psychological theories and methods relevant to human-computer interaction. The knowledge may be applied to the analysis and design of systems with respect to usability with special emphasis on different conditions among users in terms of age and gender. CONTENTS Psychological theories and methods of importance for the analysis of human-computer interaction (53%). Fundamentals of cognitive psychology. Long-term and short-term memory. Information and process theories. Psychological principles connected to learning. Theories of communication and language. Cognitive processes of problem solving. Applications (47%). Psychological processes of programming, data base interaction, and learning of new systems. Design principles for user interface. TEACHING Lectures and supervised laboratory work. EXAMINATION Written examination with differentiated grades. Taking part in laboratory work is mandatory. Correction of examination according to alternative A in ÒRegler för tentamenÓ.
