TIMEPERIOD: LANGUAGE:English/Swedish EXAMINER Studierektor PREREQUISITES The examiner decides whether or not the student has enough knowledge to start his/her thesis work. COURSE AIM The aim of the thesis is to provide in-depth knowledge within a specific field of the course specialisation during the final year. CONTENTS General: To be awarded the degree of Master of Science it is required that the student has done an approved thesis within a particular field The field chosen has be in a subject covered by ordinary lecturers or specialised lecturers within the university. Choosing of a field: The thesis shall be done within a field that is related to the course specialisations during the final year. Students may apply to the department to do a thesis within a different field. Time limits for the thesis: Students that have not finished their thesis work within 15 months cannot demand to complete their work. The department that is responsible for the examination do not have any obligation to continue the supervision of a thesis that has lasted for more than 15 months. TEACHING In order to receive an approved thesis it is demanded that the student, apart from the written report - gives an oral presentation of his work and has someone oppose the thesis - opposes someone elseÕs thesis - is present at the presentation of at least two thesis presentation apart from the above mentioned.
