TIMEPERIOD: Q I LANGUAGE:Swedish EXAMINER Lars Bernspång Univ lekt PREREQUISITES MAM043, MTF008 COURSE AIM The aim of the course is to give basic knowledge of strength of materials, as well as bar and beam analysis. CONTENTS Basics of strength of materials: Stresses and strains, relations and transformations Bars: Calculations of stresses, strains and deformations Beams: Calculations of moments, shear forces and deformations in bending Calculations of stresses from bending and torsion. Assignment: Construction of a statically determinate frame. Laborations: Measuring of strains and deflections on a steel beam. Measuring and comparing stresses in different directions on a pressurized tube with Mohrs circle of stress. TEACHING The teaching consists of lectures, exercises and assignments. Assignments are compulsory. EXAMINATION Written examination at the end of the course. Assignments. COURSE GRADE SCALE: 3, 4, 5 ITEMS/CREDITS | |
