COURSE AIM
The aim of the course is to give training in planning, design, quantity surveying and to prepare a bid for a civil engineering project or an industrial building. The course is intended to be a synthesis of previous courses.

CONTENTS
The course deals with an ongoing project e.g. a road, a rail road or an industrial plant which shall be built on a design and build contract. The students work in groups simulating a project team in a construction company. The groups prepare their technical and commercial proposals in competition with each other. The work is as realistic as possible with actual tender documents. The result of the work is a bid for the job including descriptions of the proposed technical solutions which shall be defended in simulated negotiation about the contract.

TEACHING
The teaching will start with some general lectures on planning and design. Lectures intended to assist in solving the current problems are given as needed. The groups have possibility to consult the teachers who give advise but not solutions.
