COURSE AIM
The objective of this course is to give the students advanced knowledge about theory, principles, restrictions, and techniques, used in modern digital communication systems.

CONTENTS
The course is a follow up of SMS015 Digital Transmission, which treated basic features of digital communication systems. The following items are treated: Signalling on band-limited channels, multipath propagation, intersymbol interference, equalization (linear, non-linear, adaptive) optimal filters, channel models (static and fading), channel estimation, continuous phase modulation, coding techniques (TCM).

TEACHING
The teaching consists of lessons and laboratory lessons.

EXAMINATION
An examination with differential grade. Marking papers as alternative A in "Regler för tentamen".
