COURSE AIM
This course is indented to give the student basic knowledge about principals of, concepts for, and performance limitations in digital transmission.

CONTENTS
Fundamentals of analog transmission, quantization, pulse-code modulation, geometrical representations of waveforms, modulation techniques (QAM, PSK, QPSK, DPSK, FSK), the additive Gaussian noise channel, optimal detectors, performance analysis of digital receivers.

TEACHING
The teaching consists of lectures with theory and problem solving.
