COURSE AIM
The aim of this course is to give a broad introduction to Geoscience.

CONTENTS
General geology. Plate tectonics and the formation of the Earth. Mineralogy. Identification methods. Petrology. Diagnostic methods for rocks. Structural geology. Prequaternary och regional geology. Quaternary geology and soils Man and the geologic environment Meteorology Hydrology Geohydrology Geophysics Geochemistry Geodesy Field-work and excursions Geologic and geophysical mapping. Visits to mines, pits, dams and reclaimed areas. Pumping tests. Computer modelling of ground water flow.

TEACHING
Lectures will be given in Swedish.
