COURSE AIM
The course will give basic knowledge about the physics of the earth from a global to a local scale. The shape of the earth, map projections and coordinate systems are also treated. The major part of the course deals with methods to measure and describe the properties mentioned above.

CONTENTS
Physical properties of rocks and soils. Global geophysics. Map projections and coordinate systems. Applied geophysics Surveying Photogrammetry. Introduction to GIS.

TEACHING
Lectures and field work. Field work is compulsory.

EXAMINATION
Written examination and approved field work.
