PREREQUISITES

COURSE AIM
The course will give basic knowledge about surveying methods. Photogrammetry and areal photo interpretation are also treated.

CONTENTS
Surveying instruments: Theodolites, levels, distance meters, total stations. Basic theory of measurements and errors: Concepts, error propagation, least squares method, means, standard deviation, applications. Surveying: Map projections and coordinate systems, mapping, traverses, control surveys, application in building. GPS: Code and carrier wave measurements. Absolute and differential measurements.

TEACHING
Lectures and field work. Field work is compulsory.

EXAMINATION
Written examination and approved field work.
