COURSE AIM
Item 1. Educational Research The aim of the item is that the student should acquire in-depth knowledge and skills in how to create scientific knowledge about the study object of the education. This should be done through studies of the research works of the education and contacts with active researcher within the educational research field. A broaden orientation in topical educational dabate is also part of the item. Item 2. Paper Work The aim of the item is the student should practice his ability to systematic describe, explain and understand educational practitioner. The student should choose the subject of the paper work together with the teacher who grades.

CONTENTS
The issue of the education as a scientific discipline is traditional to systematical describe, explain and understand the educational practice - rearing, education and teaching - that exists and has existed in the society. The educational problem area deals with questions about how, why and which values, knowledge and skills that arise, are preserved and change within and between cultures, generations, groups and individuals. The subject of education today also comprises in a wider sense an orientation towards learning that thereby widen practitioner and study objects for the subject.

TEACHING
The form of the teaching is lectures, seminars, group practices as well as supervision The form of the teaching at the item of the written paper is undergraduate research and supervision. Several students can co-operate about the same paper work.

EXAMINATION
The examination is written and oral, individual and in group. The item of the written paper will be examined at a seminar where the examiner/doctoral canditate model is applied.
COURSE GRADE SCALE: Fail, Pass, Distinction.

COURSE LITTERATURE
Theses and research reports are chosen in consultation with teachers in the course. The chosen literature should be approved by the grading teacher.
