PREREQUISITES
MPB001 or equivalent course on manufacturing processes.

COURSE AIM
The course shall give a basic knowledge of machines and equipment for industrial manufacturing systems primarily automatic and integrated systems, and of design, analysis and control of manufacturing systems.

CONTENTS
Fundamentals of manufacturing and automation. Building blocks of automatic manufacturing systems. Automated material handling. Industrial robotics. Control systems. Traditional and modern manufacturing philosophies and sytem designs. Work studies, reductions of work in process, set-up times and lead times.

Lectures, laboratory lessons.
