COURSE AIM
The course will provide a broad overview of systems and methods of surface treatment and protection.

CONTENTS
The course will give an overview of the most common methods of surface treatment such as cleaning, conversion coatings (anodizing, chromating, phosphating), electrodeposition, thermal spraying, vacuum deposition and painting. Both coating technology and the properties of the layers will be discussed. A major part of the course will be devoted to further studies on properties of thin metallics coatings.
