COURSE AIM
To give knowledge of and skill in the use of some mathematical methods which are needed for the treatment of problems in signalanalysis, control systems and circuit theory.

CONTENTS
Laplace transforms Definition and basic properties, inverse Laplace transform, the initial- and finalvaluetheorems. Solving linear differential equations with constant coefficients. Systems Properties of linear systems, input- output relations, generalized functions, unit impulse responce, step response, transfer function and frequency response, convolution. Systems of linear differential equations with constant coefficients State space models, matrix methods, steady- and transient solutions, stability. The matrix exponential and linear systems. Mechanical vibrations and electric circuits. z-transforms Definition and basic properties.
