PREREQUISITES

COURSE AIM
This course is intended to give an introduction to the Calculus of Variations and some of its geometrical and physical applications.

CONTENTS
Functionals, the Euler equation,the Brachistochrone problem, isoperimetric problems, problems with movable boundaries.

Written examination at the end of the course.
