COURSE AIM
The aim of the course is to provide the students with the first elementary skills of Spanish grammar, both morphology and syntax. At the same time provide them with a basic vocabulary of words and phrases. The students should be able to manage linguistic materials in an active way both orally and in writing in simple everyday situations. The course should also provide knowledge of the cultural, political, social and economic conditions in Spain.

CONTENTS
The course is not divided in different modules; so pronunciation, grammar, oral and written skills are integrated in teaching materials for beginners.

TEACHING
The greater part of the teaching consists of classes where active participation is required. There will also be various pair and group exercises.

EXAMINATION
The course will end with a short translation test. Active participation is required as is completion of the oral and written assignments. Students who do not pass the ordinary tests will have the opportunity to take a resit. The course will be graded as above. The students that pass the tests can not resit them to obtain higher grades.
