COURSE AIM
- To deepen the students knowledge of political processes in society as well as the different theories of political science that surround theese processes. - To deepen the students insight into the scientific study of politics, with reference on the choice of theoretical, methodical and analytical impulses. - The ambition of the course is to stimulate independence, both with reference on choice of subject, literature and methods of analysis.

CONTENTS
Course A: The Scientific Study of Politics. - More modern political theory. - The concept discourse analysis is introduced. - Emphasis is layed on the concepts politics and different scientific impulses, the purpose being to study these phenomenon. Course B: Own Choice of Course. - Each student can choose between two alternatives: 1: Comparitive Politics and Administration. 2: International Politics. - Literature is chosen in consultation with tutor. - Every student must write and defend a thesis at a special seminar. - Choice of subject, presentation of a problem etc will be presented by the student in a written memorandum, a so called thesis-memo. - The memorandum will be discused at a special seminar.

EXAMINATION
Written and oral exams and compulsary assignments. Thesis, seminar and approved opposion. Grading system: Fail, Pass or Honours.

COURSE LITTERATURE
Course A: The Scientific Study of Politics. The literature will be determined at the beginning of the course. Course B: Own Choice of Course. Literature to be decided in consultation with student. For the degree project more literature will be determined in consultation with the student.
