COURSE AIM
To give the student both theoretical and practical knowledge in the performance of competitionanalysis and development of business-strategy.

CONTENTS
The cource present techniques to analyse a firm«s competitive situation and how to develop a business strategy. Techniques to analyse anvironmental impacts, branches of industries, corporate resources and shareholder values are discussed. As an exercise, the students also analyse one branch of industry and propose a business strategy for one firm in the industry. The course consists of techniques for analysing the company«s competition and development of business-strategies. Techniques for analyses of environment, trades, competition, resourcebased analystechniques and partneranalys will be presented. These analystechniques constitute one part of the basis that companies use for choice, development and implementation of a strategy. The course also consist of a practical task where the students will analys the situation of the competition in one trade and develop a suggestion for one of the companies in the trade. In the second part groups of students analyse the strategies and structures of a chosen corporation from the start of the firm to today.
