COURSE AIM
The goals of the course are to introduce the students to the applications of multimedia in education and give general knowledge of the use of computerized multimedia in teaching as well as its potential and limitations.
CONTENTS
The course comprises:
1. The use of multimedia in education in close cooperation with other forms of teaching and learning.
2. The potential and limitations of computerized multimedia.
3. Methods to develop multimedia products.
4. Hardware for multimedia, its function and methods for integration.
5. Software for production of a multimedia product.
TEACHING
Lectures and project-work. The main part of the course will be devoted to a project in which the students develop applications of multimedia to teaching. Parts of the course will be in English.
EXAMINATION
The examination is based on an estimation of how well the students have succeeded in applying multimedia technique to the solution of a pedagogical problem within the school system from pre-school to Secondary School level as well as child-care.
