AIM OF COURSE
- To give an insight into how individuals shape their own poitical values and how they are embraced/influenced by the political culture.
- To give an insight into how the political culture is shaped and changed.
- To give an insight into how different groups are recruited into political life.
CONTENTS
CONTENTS
Course A: Political Socialization - From agents to Multimedia
- The course shows how different studies of political socialization have evolved.
- Central questions surrouning the indoctrination of individuals into the norm and value systems that are the basis of our societies political culture.
Course B: Political Culture in Transformation
- The growth and change of political culture.
- The political cultures meaning and importance for the political life.
- The meaning of local norms and values on our youths political beliefs is also discussed.
Course C: Political Recruitment - a Democratic Dilemma
- Who becomes politicians?
- How different groups ( youths or women) are recruited into political assignments.
Course D: Thesis
- The thesis will treat a problem that deals with political socialization or recruitment.
