PREREQUISITES

COURSE AIM
To give basic knowledge about computer networks and communication protocols, and especially to give an understanding for the protocols used in the Internet.

CONTENTS
Protocols, interfaces, layering. Internetworking. The OSI model (X.25). The Internet Model(TCP/IP, FTP, TELNET, etc). Local networks: Ethernet, token ring. Reliability by acknowledgements, sliding window protocols. Error detection and error recovery. Network support for real time video and audio communication.
