COURSE AIM
The aim of the course is to give a basic understanding of modern analytical techniques suitable for the analysis of environmental and industrial samples including water.

CONTENTS
Sample preparation. Different types of sample preparation, sample preparation for different analytical methods. Instrumental methods. Optical emission spectroscopy using an inductively coupled plasma as the excitation source (ICP-OES), atomic absorption spectroscopy with and without flame, plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS), brief description of other methods.

TEACHING
Lectures and compulsory laboratory lessons.

EXAMINATION
Written examination at the end of the course.
