PREREQUISITES
Basic knowledge of metrology

COURSE AIM
The course shall give a deeper knowledge in metrology. The student shall understand the relations between product specification, inspection method and result. The student shall have a wide knowledge in modern methods and equipment for metrology.

CONTENTS
Analysis of product specifications regarding dimensions and tolerances. Inspection planning and inspection specifications. Measuring in Coordinate Measuring Machine and other modern equipment. Analysis of measurement results. Further in depth studies within one or several of the following areas; measurement of form and shape, profile, surfaces, alignment, straightness and flatness.

TEACHING
The teaching is mainly in form of projects and laboratory lessons.

EXAMINATION
The examination is based on project and lab reports .

COURSE LITTERATURE
Manuals for used equipment and systems. Additional English course literature will be announced later.
